Shania's Sunflower of Hope

Shania Johnston was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma in June 2006 and fought this cancer with a grace and determination that has since inspired many. She began fundraising one misty summer day with her friend – beaded necklaces, bracelets, and keychains. All the neighbours bought the adorable trinkets and the 8yr-old's fundraising endevours became Shania's Sunflower of Hope. Before long, the fundraising efforts grew to great heights with large events: the Annual Fun Fair and the Annual Golf Tournament. All proceeds are donated to Sick Kids Hospital.

Shania Johnston passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 8am. She was surrounded by her loving family, Shayne, Karen, and little sister Shannon. Shania's Sunflower of Hope is forever her legacy.
