Diary of a Wimpy Kid (book 1) | Jeff Kinney
Guess what? I'm going to share with you an amazing story called Diary of a Wimpy Kid (book 1) by Jeff Kinney. The two main characters are best friends Greg and Rowley. I'll tell you a little bit about them right now!
Greg Heffley is a teenager who thinks he can do many things but always seems to end up in a big problem or great mess. It is his diary that we get to read, all about his troubles during the day.
He gets bullied because he thinks, believes, and writes in his diary. Only thing is, Greg has to or he will get grounded! He only agreed with his parents because he thinks he will be famous one day and he wants to give his diary to his fans. Problem is, he asked his mom for a journal but she went ahead and got him a diary instead.
Rowley Jefferson, a teenager who acts like he's a 3yr-old is also the strangest boy anyone has ever met – he likes a singer for 6yr-old girls! – and he is always able to crank up a dance party. Like Greg, he gets bullied for keeping a diary but unlike Greg, Rowley is way better at getting his way with his parents.
The cool thing about this book is that it's written like a diary. I feel like I'm spying on somebody's secrets but could you resist if you came across a diary? I'm not sure I could...
I think that kids should read this book because it taught me how hard it is for somebody who gets bullied. Also, you can't find a funnier book than this – like, really, Jeff Kinney has amazing talents. I promise that once you start reading, you won't be able to stop. It's too hillarious! •
